About UWC Ethiopia

The Ethiopian National Committee for the United World Colleges is a completely volunteer-driven group, managed and run by alumni and dedicated volunteers.

Our National Committee’s leadership team currently includes a Chairperson, Secretary, Parent Representative, Safeguarding Lead, and Alumni Coordinator, supported by a dedicated group of volunteers and an advisory team.

Over the years, we have successfully enrolled nearly 200 Ethiopian students, representing various Ethiopian regional states, in the 18 UWC colleges across multiple continents. Our students complete the rigorous two-year International Baccalaureate program at UWC, then go on to pursue further academic and professional opportunities in the Americas, Europe, and beyond.

Ethiopian students interested in pursuing a UWC experience are selected through a nomination process led by our National Committee. This rigorous selection and nomination process spans several months, ensuring that chosen students are well-prepared for their UWC journey.
